Thruxton - Classic Sports Car Club Meeting
One of the genres of photography I like, is taking photos of cars, usually stationary cars.
I've never done any 'Sports Photography' before, so before I went to any major events I thought it best to practice at a smaller meeting. Thruxton Circuit is only about an hour away from me so was the ideal venue to start.
The Meeting I chose to go to was the 'Classic Sports Car Club Meeting'. This was split over two days, on Saturday (the day I went) the more modern era 'classics' were raced and on the Sunday the more vintage cars were used.
The photographs ended up being split into three different categories:-
Action Shots - At Chicane
Like the above shot the chicane was a good place to get shots, though nothing spectacular happened.
Speed Shots - Panning on the Straight
I've done this with normal cars on the street but not with cars going so fast, it took me awhile to get my settings correct and still I don't think I got the perfect shot.
Paddock - Behind the Scenes
Luckily with this Meet you can wonder around the Paddock and get up close to the cars and drivers. Here's a few shots I liked:-
At a cost of only £10, this was a great value day out and recommend to anyone who wants to try taking Motorsport Photography.
